Message from Executive Director:

Friends,

This week, our SoCal Adaptive Sports family joins together in honoring the life of Norm Rosenkrantz, whose passing marks the end of a remarkable journey lived over 97 years.

While loss always brings sadness, it can also bring perspective. A life well lived is always worth celebrating—and by every account, Norm’s was exactly that. Ninety-seven years is not simply a long life; it is a life that witnessed generations, seasons of joy and challenge, family milestones, and the immeasurable impact one person can have on those around them.

Though I did not have the privilege of knowing Norm personally, I feel as though I came to know something of the man through memories shared by our founder, Michael Rosenkrantz. In those stories, you could sense the respect, love, and admiration Michael carried for his father. Often, the clearest reflection of a person’s character is found in the values they pass down—and in Michael’s compassion, humor, perseverance, and commitment to others, it is easy to see that Norm’s influence lives on.

This has also been a particularly difficult twelve months for me personally, having lost friends of my own. Seasons like these remind us that grief is universal, and that none of us are untouched by loss. They also remind us of something equally important: to cherish our loved ones, treasure our friendships, and never take for granted the time we are given together.

At SoCal Adaptive Sports, we often speak about resilience, community, and the importance of showing up for one another. Those values are built first in families, and the Rosenkrantz family has clearly carried them forward in meaningful ways that now touch the lives of so many athletes and families we serve. In that sense, Norm’s legacy reaches further than he may have ever imagined.

We extend our deepest condolences to Coach Mike and the entire Rosenkrantz family. At the same time, we celebrate a life rich in years, relationships, and purpose.

May we all be fortunate enough to leave behind the kind of legacy that invites both tears of loss and smiles of gratitude.

With gratitude,

Chris Allen

Amigos,

Chris Allen
