Dear Community Members:
Please stay safe during the storm!
The ageing process for me has been one of wonder and sheer delight. The older I get the less I know but the more I appreciate life. This is primarily due to being involved in the dis(cover)abilities community! I truly relish every day not only from being able to coach incredibly, talented athletes, but also from the perspective of being able to meet many people and being part of an ever growing family!
This past week has truly been wonderful, planning some really fun new activities, stay tuned, but also from meeting more and more collaborators!
Special Olympics and ACEing Autism are coming to the Coachella Valley! Check out this news video by Tatum Larsen of KESQ.
We've been truly blessed with having a wonderful board of directors currently led by our President Dr. John O'Keefe. John is an Executive neuro-performance strategist and advisor bringing a practical approach to corporate, professional, and recreational sports peak performance training.
New Staff
Meet Jenevieve Yoes, Marketing Assistant who is currently going to school for a triple associate's degree. She is studying 3d modeling animation, video game development, and Film Making. Jen is our first half-time hire! I'm so happy to bring Jen on board as she will offer a lot more professionalism when it comes to social media and our newsletter! Please join me in welcoming Jen to SoCal Adaptive Sports!
Donors
Jim McRitchie is one cool dude. I first met Jim when we were roommates attending Boston College (BC)-Graduate Program in Social Economy and Social Policy in 1979. (We were the only two Californians in this Program!) I was pretty young and didn't know much about life and Jim became my big brother! We lived in a somewhat roach infested apartment which was way too warm in the winter, but not far from BC. Jim actually showed me how to stir-fry, which is what I do practically every night since he taught me. Chopping up vegetables, maybe some tofu or fish is pretty easy. Of course I use different sauces!
Jim runs the website Corpgov.net and has been a monthly donor with SoCal Adaptive Sports for a number of years. You can join Jim and become part of the growing community in leveling the playing field and creating greater societal inclusion by making a monthly or one-time donation. You can also help to connect us with individuals, organizations and businesses who might want to join this community
Finally I have to give a shout out to my daughter, Sarah Rosenkrantz aka F.A.W.N. I had seen her perform throughout her pre-adult years, but had never been able to see her perform as a rock star, which she truly is. This past Thursday I was able to see Sarah and her band perform at the Viper Room in Los Angeles. I feel blessed to have shared in raising two wonderful human beings. For those of you who are parents, I know that you also feel blessed in raising your incredible children who now may also be adults!
